Give Me Kindness and Jesus

The Pick: The One Year Daily Acts of Kindness Devotional by Julie Fisk, Kendra Roehl, and Kristin Demery

The Premise: 365 devotional readings, including a suggested, easy to do, act of kindness.

The Pros and Cons: Okay, confession time. I didn’t actually read the entire Daily Acts of Kindness today. But I have been reading it every morning to my family around the breakfast table. It is not an overstatement to say that we’re glad we have this book. I appreciate that the focus is on our kindness as an outgrowth of our faith walk and our love for Jesus. To me, kindness and Jesus should always be linked.

As a family we like to brainstorm ways to apply the simple act of kindness each day, and if we miss a day, my daughters are always quick to ask about reading two entries the next day. Each devotional is the length of a page, and takes just a few minutes to read — even when being read aloud.

Can you tell I highly recommend this book?!

The Perfect Book For: Everyone! If you need a jumpstart on kindness in your life, buy this book. If you have a gift giving occasion coming up (cough, cough, Christmas, cough), buy this book. Seriously, go get it now!
