The Pick: Dark Clouds by Scott Bury

The Plot: Matt’s mother is in town, and that’s never a good thing. Matt knows that he will need to stop her and her coven of witches before their spells wreak havoc with the world leaders assembled with the Prime Minister.

The Pros and Cons: Today’s review is a short one for two reasons. 1. It turns out I only received a sample of Dark Clouds on my Kindle, not the whole book. 2. I wouldn’t have finished it anyway.

While Dark Clouds does have an interesting premise, a son battling his mother to keep the world safe, the overt occultism could not be ignored. Even the short, chapter length excerpt I read contained enough witchcraft, nudity, and bloodshed to turn me off permanently.

I do not recommend this book to anyone.

The Perfect Book For: Well, I’ll just skip this section. I’m also not linking to Amazon in this post. If you’re looking for a book with tons of drama and some mind bending mysticism that isn’t built on the occult, try the 49th Mystic by Ted Dekker.
