In case you wondered...

Someone, somewhere designated October as Pastor Appreciation Month (I’m looking at you, Focus on the Family!). As a pastor’s wife, I often feel torn during this month, wondering how much I should say, and how much I should keep quiet. This time, I thought I’d speak up.

Just thought you might like a cute picture of our family as you scroll through this post!

If you are stuck on what to do for your pastor this month, or any month for that matter, may I humbly suggest buying a copy of The Book Your Pastor Wishes You Would Read by Christopher Ash? Now, this book won’t be for you to give to your minister, but rather a book you read as a gift to him.

The Book… is full of insights into the life of a pastor and his family. Reading this little book—it’s short, I promise—will give you a deeper understanding of the struggles every minister faces, and practical ways you can be a support to him. Rest assured (unless you have a really, really terrible pastor) he is trying to understand your struggles too, and looking for ways to encourage you.

So, if you’re still looking for a Pastor’s Appreciation gift this October, buy The Book Your Pastor Wishes You Would Read. Or, maybe, buy a whole bunch of them and pass them around your congregation. Of course, a gift card to the local ice cream shop would not be amiss either.

*We are grateful for the members of our church who know much of the information in The Book and are super supportive of our family. Thanks, guys!!
