My Kick in the Pants AKA: The Watch on the Fencepost Blog Tour and Giveaway

Friends, I have hit a slump. January and February are difficult months for me. I often slog through them barely able to interest myself in normal life. If it weren’t for the Vitamin D3 I take every day, I’m not sure I’d get off the couch. Surely, it can’t be that bad? Here is evidence: I haven’t written one single book review for almost three months. You know something is wrong with Andrea Christenson when she can’t compose a few paragraphs on her favorite subject!

Solidarity, my Seasonal Affective Disorder peeps, we will get through this.

Because of this seasonal slump I am very grateful for a decision I made several months ago. I’d heard of the group Celebrate Lit and their blog tours featuring various writers and new books. I’ve never done a blog tour before, but I thought I’d give it a go. I’m extra glad that I signed up for The Watch on the Fencepost tour because it has forced me to begin writing again. A kickstart is just what I needed.

It is no secret to my friends and followers that I love a good puzzle (more on that HERE). When I read the description for The Watch on the Fencepost a Christian mystery by Kay DiBianca, I knew it would be a perfect way to dip my toe into the blog tour waters.

Here’s the blurb:

A mysterious gold watch propels 27-year-old Kathryn Frasier into a quest to prove her parents’ recent deaths were not an accident. Following a trail of cryptic clues, she encounters a remarkable cast of characters, including an actress with a talent for disguises, a politician with a dark secret, and a handsome businessman who shows a sudden romantic interest in Kathryn. Can she solve the mystery before she becomes the next victim?

Sounds like an adventure, right? Well, I certainly enjoyed going along for the ride as Kathryn put together the clues to solve the murder of her parents. There were a few rough spots but overall Kay DiBianca’s debut novel hit all the high notes for me: suspense, humor, and a wholesome romance. I’ll be checking every fencepost I pass by from now on. And, I look forward to reading more by this author.
